Aya Uma, which translates from Kichwa as "head of the spirit." He is the spirit who guides and directs, the one who leads the organization of his community.
The essence of this figure is closely related to the Andean worldview. His face, covered by a two-faced mask, represents the duality and complementarity of opposites: man-woman, day-night, good-evil, up-down, cold-heat, sun-moon. Furthermore, he has two faces because this prevents the figure from turning his back on the Sun, their main deity.
